This is an intorductory course for people interested in mechnaical engineering technology and has been developed for use in Secondary Schools. The qualification underpins the pre-trade courses and aprenticeships in the National Certificate in Mechanical Engineering (Level 1 and 2). It is particularly relevant for people who want to pursue careers in general engineering, machining, tool-making, fitting, engineering maintenance, fabrication, and marine engineering. The qualification is also intended to provide students with a well balanced orientated course that develops lifelong skills, and stimulates self esteem, confidence and a pride in paying attention to detail.
