How it affects me "The Employer"

No new health and safety requirements exist. The student is treated in the same way as any employee

ACC levies are not affected or payable in relation to the student

Gateway will provide appropriate PPE where required

The employer negotiates and agrees on the students learning plan and provides necessary on the job support

Agrees to have the student long enough for the student to achieve their learning outcomes. Gateway placements are preferred either one day per week or in one week blocks. Other options can be explored.

Gateway will meet any assessment costs, teaching resources, handbooks and the like, however if employers could contribute in any way it would be appreciated.

Provides an opportunity to assess suitability of prospective job candidates at minimal cost

Potential to reduce time and cost spent recruiting new staff
