How it affects me "The Parent"

No new health and safety requirements exist. The student is treated in the same way as any employee

Students are covered by ACC in the workplace

Gateway will provide appropriate PPE where required

Gives consent for the Gateway placement to go ahead

The parent agrees to support their child, the employer and the Gateway process to achieve the learning outcomes

Gateway will meet any assessment costs, teaching resources, handbooks and the like, however if parents feel they can contribute in any way it would be appreciated

Promote the Gateway Programme to employers and the wider community as a valuable experience and worth being involved in

Increases child's employment prospects

Gives your child some of the valuable experience that employers are always asking for
