South Waikato Secondary Schools Cluster

As a response to employer feedback the Gateway Programme has been implemented in the South Waikato.
The programme differs by:

  • Having strict student entry criteria to Gateway work placements based on employer expectations
  • Having learning outcomes tied to the Gateway work placement which contribute to National Qualifications (including NCEA at all levels)
  • Targeting our top senior students; (Years 11,12 & 13)
  • Having devoted staffing and resources to ensure the quality of the Gateway Programme
  • Matching student interest and employer needs
