The Agriculture Academy enables students to gain practical
experience and a theoretical understanding of agriculture and some horticulture
with a view to following a career path in these areas. Students are prepared
for either entering the workforce directly or future study at university level. The programme covers two or more years and is self-paced and in a multi-level
class. There is an interview process for
students to be accepted into this programme and a code of conduct they must
follow. Students need to have a keen interest in farming and preferably some
practical experience. Following completion of the compulsory part of the course, a programme can be built around an individual student’s interest and goals. The class also has practical activities such as fencing or stock work and industry trips during the year. |
