The Waikato Secondary Schools competition has started with
most teams having already played two games. The FV Girls
XV has had an increase in playing numbers and their competition
began on 12 May against Hamilton Girls.
This year each grade will be playing for new trophies carrying
the name of a past prominent player. The former players
are all Waikato centurions or All Blacks and all have played
secondary school rugby in Waikato. Top grade – 1st
Division 1 is the Ian Foster Shield.
Any players who are interested in furthering their rugby
skills are encouraged to attend the skills session run each
Tuesday during lunch with Reuben Samuels and Kent Currie
at school. Reuben is hoping to bring specialist forward
and back players from Waikato Rugby to work one-on-one with
players. This is a great opportunity not to be missed.
